FUTURES DESIGN LAB is a project-based sequence I direct within my ‘Physical Computing II’ courses (since 2007), in which students respond individually and collectively to the Ars Electronica NEXT IDEA call for design-art proposals that address “three themes of key importance to humankind’s future: energy, mobility and access.” Under my direction, students spend 5-6 weeks collaboratively designing ideas and refining the style and content for their video proposals.
